MEET CHRISTOFFER EDWARDS

My Career path:

Career paths don’t always follow a straight line, and I always thought that I would be working in the event industry. I even started my own company at a young age, performing as a DJ at numerous events. At the same time, I have always been fascinated by the Shipping industry and when I got the opportunity to join a shipping company, I jumped right in. I started out as a Shipping Assistant and later worked as an Assistant Operation Manager. Later, my interests became more focused around sales, so it was a perfect match when the position as Bunker Trader came to my attention at Malik Supply. I have found my right place– being able to combine my love for the industry and sales.

Life is a continuous learning experience. Having run my own company and performing as a DJ has taught me a lot about understanding a business. Also, I got to meet a lot of different people, which has expanded my network.

What I do:

I help vessel owners finding the right quality fuel at the best price. Every day start with a drive from my home in Frederikshavn to our office in Aalborg, with music on the speakers of course. When I get to the office I get a cup of coffee, start the computer, and go through my emails. I check the oil prices and read the maritime news. Then I catch up and check in with customers, making sure they get the advice and help they need.

It’s important to have a service-mindset. We need to be the ones the customers call when having questions or issues. We are here to help.

What drives me:

It drives me to create results and forming new relations with customers and suppliers. I am a people-person and love to network. When I can sense and see an improvement in the cooperation that motivates me.

What I like most in my job/working at Malik Supply:

I love this business and the challenges – and having the contact with both customers and suppliers. For me it is important that the company aligns with my values. Treating others how you want to be treated, being honest and respectful – and that aligns perfectly with the values at Malik Supply. Malik Supply has a great focus on employee well-being, and I really appreciate that.

There is a good dialogue between managers and employees and there is room for own ideas and freedom to execute in relation to reaching our goals.
